Privacy policy
Pawzel is a cozy club of daily puzzles, and we keep your data the same way: as little as we can, and only to run the game. You never need to give us your name, email or location.
Who we are
Pawzel is made by Pawzel Studio. Questions about your data? Write to [email protected].
What we keep
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| A random player id, your progress, streaks and Daily results | To save your game and carry it to a new device | Until you delete your account |
| Your player name and animal (a made-up name, unless you choose one), and when you last played | To show you on leaderboards and to players you challenge | Until you delete your account |
| Paws, and challenges with their results | So you and the other player see them | Until you delete your account; unanswered challenges, about 2 days |
| Your stitches, earned and spent | Your balance, and to keep the game fair | Until you delete your account |
| Your country, from your phone’s region setting | Only for totals, like “players in 31 countries today” | Until you delete your account |
| If you sign in with Apple or Google: your email | To keep your progress across devices | Until you delete your account |
To keep the game fair, we also keep names that players report and, for 30 days, any Daily our server could not accept. Your puzzles, settings and reminders stay on your phone.
We never sell your data, and never ask for your real name, location or contacts. A name you choose is seen by other players, so pick a playful one.
Ads
Ads keep Pawzel free. They come from Google AdMob, which also invites AppLovin, Unity Ads and Liftoff to fill the same space. To show ads, these networks receive things like your device’s advertising id, its model and language, and your IP address. With your permission they use them to show ads that suit you; without it, you still see ads, just less personal ones.
- In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked before any ad is shown.
- In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of your data being shared for ads.
- On iPhone, Apple asks whether Pawzel may track you. Saying no still lets you play everything.
- You can change your mind any time: Settings, then Ad privacy choices.
When you watch a video for stitches, AdMob lets our server know, so the stitches reach you. Each network follows its own policy: Google (policies.google.com/privacy), AppLovin (applovin.com/privacy), Unity (unity.com/legal/privacy-policy) and Liftoff (liftoff.io/privacy-policy).
Your choices
- Delete everything: Settings, then Delete account and data. It is removed from our servers at once, on every device.
- Stay off leaderboards or turn off challenges in Settings.
- Change your name or animal any time in Settings.
- Play as a guest: signing in is always optional.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, at [email protected] (include the player id shown in Settings). We use your data to run the game you asked for, with your consent for personal ads, and to keep the game fair. In the EU or the UK, you can also contact your data protection authority.
Children
The puzzles are for all ages, but with its ads and leaderboards, the Pawzel app is meant for players aged 13 and over. If a child under 13 has been playing, write to us and we will delete their data.
Where it is stored
Our servers are run by Supabase in Sydney, Australia, so your game data travels there, safely encrypted on the way.
Changes
If anything changes, we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app when it matters.
